Excellent resource for students (through calc) make full use of the capabilities of the TI 84+. Stat examples not as strong.

I have the older version of this book, which I use to loan out to students having difficulty with their TI-84 Plus or who want to learn more options.
The TI-84 Plus is the workhorse of high school math. That said, many students (and teachers) buy one, and use it to do tasks a one dollar calculator can complete. Sort of like buying a sports car, and never driving it over 5 mph.
These are clear, step by step instructions covering everything even a pretty advanced student at the high school level will use. The book even has a section on programming the calculator. The author also covers what to do if you calculator is having issue, which I much appreciate since I always have to google those problems. A nice table in the back covers error messages, and explanations are also given for what to do to reboot the whole thing.
There is a learning curve to mastering a TI-84 Plus. This book will make it shorter, but you still will need to put in some effort to learning to use it well. With the step by step examples, you can find problems similar to those you are doing in class and follow along to figure out how to make the most of your TI-84 Plus. There are actual screen shots, which are very helpful.
The weakness I found was in the explanation for running statistical tests. For example, your calculator can run ANOVA, but I could not find any mention of how to do so in the book. Some basics on t tests and z tests are covered, so I am not sure where the author drew the line as far as explaining the statistical capabilities of the TI 84 Plus. Not a lot of high school classes cover that level of stat (so I will not ding the book for this), but do be aware there is less about statistics in here than there is about more typical high school classes.
As a math teacher, I must note. Be aware that you can become TOO dependent on your calculator. If your teacher does not allow them on tests or exams (or a later teacher bans them) you will then have an issue. Use the calculator to help you learn, not as a crutch.
The book also comes with a free ebook version. You do have to register to get it, but they only require your name and email. The registration process involved getting a confirmation email, logging on and entering two codes from a matrix of codes from the front of the book. Took about 3 min and then I had access to PDF ePub and Kindle versions (you can get them all) of the book. On the Kindle the formatting looked good. This is handy, as we can put it on the computer and use the search function to find what we need fast.

Teaches It All - Well Organized and Easy To Understand

This tutorial teaches how to use the TI-84, TI-84 Plus CE and TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition graphing calculators. The writing is clear and the objectives are outlined. You may skip around to learn something you must know right now or you can read it from front to back. The directions and information are in the formats of paragraphs, charts, illustrations and diagrams. Grayed boxes help short sections with tips pop out and stand apart from the longer sections.
The purchase of the paperback book entitles you to also download all versions of the ebook. It will be convenient for use while away at college so the student doesn't have to bring the hardcopy book to campus.
This teaches everything you need for high school math and to become proficient so you can use the calculator in the SAT. It's clear and straightforward. I rate this 5 stars = I Love It.

A MUST HAVE resource for a calculator with lots of great features but no Users Guide to accompany the hefty price.

After seeing some of the YouTube videos I decided to give this book a try. I'm in a graduate level biostatistics course and wish I'd found this book sooner!! The book is easy to read and I'm amazed at how many hours I could have saved when doing my homework assignments had I known how to use all of the different features of my calculator. Now I can spend more time focusing on the important concepts in class and less time on just the calculations.
